Daniel had found the strange book in the library. It was dusty, and certainly a contender for the oldest book in the place. And it was in the wrong place. Surely a book about ‘easy witchcraft spells’ should not be in the same section as the Computer Programming books.
Still Daniel thought it would be fun to have a read of the book, if it was in the wrong place he may as well have a look at it. Strangely it didn’t have any library tag on it, so surely it must be someone’s lost property. But there was no-one around. Opening to a random page there was a title saying “Spell to release inner self” and that was enough for his logical mind to deal with. He just popped it into his bag making a mental note to hand it in to lost and found on the way out.
When he got home he realised he had completely forgotten about the book and it was still in his bag. He opened it again and it was at the same page. He pondered around it, but surely it was a load of nonsense.
He read the first line of the spell, and seemed to do nothing so he continued. The next line he was sure the lights flickered a little. The third line, he felt a shiver of down his spine and it felt good and he pulled a smirk. The fourth line he read louder still, and felt a ripple through his spine and through his body and the lights flickered even more. The fifth line ended with him pulling a massive grin of how good it felt to sound out loud and the pleasure ran through him and he felt it almost run straight out of his body as he felt himself falling.
He fell down, down further still and felt a crash of energy coarse through him. Almost as though it was falling backwards into a swimming pool full of electricity. He felt the energy race through his back again as the words repeated automatically in his head, with more power each time.
Each time something felt different. First his back grew strong and powerful, then strength in his arms. Strength. That’s what he was growing. He felt it everywhere growing. This was who Dan was. Strong. Powerful. Chav.
He awoke on his bed feeling a craving for something. He smirked at himself in the mirror while he pulled on his trackies. Adidas of course. Then off to his mates to show em the new Dan and show them who they all really were.
